Rihanna - Rude Boy (Chrispy Remix)

The more and more I introduce Dubstep to people, they tend to relate it to Autobots having an orgy, and to some degree, they're right! There is a very specific style of Dubstep sometimes called Mechastep. So to ease you non-believers into it, here's some Rihanna gone Dubstep (; A current emerging theme in the style is the remixing of hit hip-hop and rap songs to Dubstep, some with dismal failure, or in the case of Chrispy's remix, a job well done.

Sonny Moore - Father Said

As I mentioned in a previous post, Sonny Moore, also known by his current stage name as Skrillex is a new artist in the Dubstep scene and this here is one of his first ever releases. The vocals in this song are Sonny himself. This gives him a massive bonus in my book, as very few Dubstep artists at all are multi-talented in the sense that they sing and are DJ's.

Ellie Goulding - Lights (Bassnectar Remix)

Ellie Goulding has a great style and voice that I like just to start with, let alone Bassnectar doing a great remix of her song called "Lights". Bassnectar is a great artist to check out, he's releasing a lot of stuff recently, excited to see what he has in store for 2011.

Nero - Innocence

Nero is extremely well known for producing a lot of Vocal Dubstep, and they're pretty much the standard for it. Here's a great one that my girlfriend Lauren showed me the other day (:

Skrillex - Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites

A very quickly emerging Dubstep artist is Sonny Moore, known better by his stage name Skrillex (Pronounced Skrill-ix). Starting his music career as a guitarist in a rock band gone Dubstep DJ. He's signed under Deadmau5 and is currently getting ready to release more songs for 2011. His first release was called "I am Skrillex" in June of 2010. Looking forward to seeing what he can do to develop his songs and make him distinguished among the old school artists that currently dominate the Dubstep scene.

Taio Cruz - Dirty Picture (Cookie Monster Remix)

More and more, I'm appreciating good Dubstep remixes of pop and hip hop songs. Here's one by Cookie Monster, he has some pretty good stuff, been around for a while now.
